Today, Small Business Majority submitted testimony to the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity who, along with BBC Research and Consulting, are conducting a disparity study in Virginia. A disparity study is an essential first step towards passing policy solutions that would allow more women- and minority-owned small businesses to compete on a level playing field with other businesses.

Small Business Majority Survey: State of small business six months into the COVID-19 pandemic

Small Business Majority released its fourth survey of its national network of 70,000 small business owners conducted during the pandemic to assess the current state of small business and gauge their views on possible relief measures. The survey also revealed the extent to which PPP and EIDL have served small businesses during the crisis. The survey found many small businesses continue to face an uncertain future without additional relief, with 1 in 4 reporting they won't survive past three months and 16% considering bankruptcy. 

The agenda for Virginia's Entrepreneurs: 2020 Special Session

Small Business Majority released its agenda today for Virginia's Entrepreneurs ahead of the 2020 Special Session, which begins on Tuesday, August 18th. The agenda calls for key policy solutions to support small businesses in the state including access to responsible small busuiness lending and expanding healthcare access and affordability.
