Small Business Majority writes in strong support of SB 951, which would help more Californian small business owners and employees take paid time off from work to recover from illness, care for their family or bond with a new child without jeopardizing their economic security.  

Small Business Majority writes in support of AB 2589, which would make the California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) and the Young Child Tax Credit (YCTC) more impactful and overall improve access to the California tax system for low to moderate income small business owners and employees. 

Small Business Majority writes in support of AB 2670, which would provide business assistance to small businesses hoping to make a positive social impact by providing jobs, training and support to employees who have barriers to employment.

Small Business Majority writes in strong support of AB 2314, which would require any commercial financing products that leverage state funding—such as loan guarantee programs—to include several financing rights and protections for small business borrowers.

Small Business Majority writes in support of AB 2226, which would expand the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development’s (GO-Biz) current activities related to geographically-based economic development areas to also include cultural districts. The legislation would also require GO-Biz to engage with the California Historic Preservation Commission on a range of economic development activities.

Small Business Majority writes in support of AB 2847, an investment of $690 million to create an Excluded Workers Program for employees in California who are excluded from unemployment insurance. This would ensure that all unemployed workers have the resources they need to recover and continue to support local small businesses. 

Small Business Majority writes in support of SB 633 (Limón), which will require that non-English speaking co-signers be given a translated notice disclosing the financial responsibilities that they will undertake if they sign a contract. This will benefit the many non-English speaking small business owners in our state by ensuring they receive a copy of contracts and leases they sign in the language they speak.

Small Business Majority is happy to support SB 972, which will remove barriers to accessing food vending permits by modernizing the California Retail Food Code (CRFC). The legislation will bring thousands of micro-entrepreneurs into a more equitable and well-regulated food economy while enhancing critical health and food safety regulation.

Small Business Majority is pleased to support AB 2080, which will discourage anticompetitive behaviors in the healthcare industry. This bill will strengthen oversight over hospital mergers and consolidation by the Attorney General, a key measure to control healthcare costs and affordability for small business owners.
