Small Business Majority and U.S. PIRG send letter highlighting support for the Patients Deserve Price Tags Act
Ahead of a July 22 committee markup, Small Business Majority and U.S. PIRG submitted a letter to the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) in support of the bipartisan Patients Deserve Price Tags Act (S. 2355), which would codify and strengthen hospital and health plan price transparency rules. The letter, which was signed by more than 150 small business owners across the country, highlights the importance of empowering small businesses and employees with transparent, dollars-and-cents healthcare pricing which puts purchasing power back in the hands of employers and consumers. In fact, our research found that 96% of small business owners say that healthcare providers should be required to publicly post the prices they charge for services.
