On May 6, Small Business Majority network member Brenda Doles, Co-Founder of HealthCare Resolution Services, Inc, submitted written testimony to the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship regarding the need to address ongoing racial discrimination and the role of targeted federal business programs supporting minority-owned businesses. Brenda’s testimony outlines the importance of targeted federal programs such as the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 8(a) Business Development Program and the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) and how an increase in burdensome, cost-prohibitive requirements and certifications for minority-owned small businesses has impacted her business’s ability to secure opportunities through government contracts.
