Small Business Majority Supports Prescription Drug Affordability Board in New Mexico

Today, Public Policy Director and New Mexico Outreach Director submitted a letter to New Mexico's House Health & Human Services Committee in favor of HB 51, the Prescription Drug Affordability Board (PDAB) Act. This legislation would help address the high cost of prescription drugs, which have a great impact on small business owners who are struggling to offer healthcare benefits to their employees.

Without a trace of experience in the food industry, Matt Weyandt and his family sailed into the world of chocolate and launched Xocolatl in late 2014. Georgia business owner takes on healthcare inequity in more ways than one

Full-time health policy advocate and part-time doula Knetta Adkins is striving to make the Georgia healthcare system more accessible for everyone–especially families of color.
 
Knetta started practicing as a doula three years ago in Alabama, but soon after she relocated to Georgia and started her own practice, Douwella, where she supports parents through their pre and postpartum journey.
 
She says, “It’s important to me that I ensure that the families I work with have agency over their birthing story.”

Small Businesses and Business Organizations add their name in support of the Inflation Reduction Act

Today, hundreds of small business owners and business organizations added their names to a letter urging Congress to pass the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. The letter outlines how small businesses stand to benefit from the legislation, namely by improving access to healthcare, increasing tax enforcement on large corporations, and making meaningful climate change investments.
