The coronavirus pandemic has forever changed consumer behavior and how business is done. Tech giants and other large companies were able to capitalize on this seismic shift, leaving vulnerable small businesses behind, particularly those owned by women and entrepreneurs of color. To ensure an equitable recovery and to level the playing field for small businesses, we have launched an in-depth, multifaceted research project to better understand what these businesses need to compete in a radically changed environment.  

With the generous support of Wells Fargo, this ongoing project will be looking at the following topics as it relates to small business' digital transformation: to be the primary sponsor on this multifaceted, 18-month research project outlined below.

Small Business Majority Submits Comment to the Federal Register on SBLC

Today, John Arensmeyer, Founder & CEO, submitted a comment to the Federal Register regarding the U.S. Small Business Administration's Small Business Lending Moratorium Recission and Removal of the Requirement for a Loan Authorization proposed rule. The Agency’s attempt to increase access to capital for minority and other under-resourced entrepreneurs is admirable, but the rules are not clear enough and do not properly address the process by which new licensees will be chosen nor the standards they will be held to.

The USHCC is America's largest small business advocacy group, representing more than 260 local chambers and business associations nationwide.

Small business owners support criminal justice reforms to address persistent workforce challenges

This poll, conducted in six states – Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas – found that 84% of small business owners agreed that Clean Slate policies would open up a pool of job applicants that deserve a second chance. Regardless of political affiliation, small businesses shared support for policies that can help boost labor recruitment. Given the ongoing workforce challenges hindering small business growth, the poll results confirmed widespread backing for policies that seal or expunge qualifying criminal records from background checks.
