Small Businesses Support the Nomination of Julie Su as Secretary of Labor

On April 7, Small Business Majority submitted a letter to the U.S. Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions, urging the committee to confirm the nomination of Julie Su as the next Secretary of Labor. Deputy Secretary Su is collaborative, works well with small business groups, and will ensure that small businesses and their employees are truly supported and prioritized.

Small Business Majority Offers Testimony on Healthcare Affordability

Today, CEO and Founder John Arensmeyer offered written testimony to the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health hearing: "Why Health Care is Unaffordable." Mr. Arensmeyer offered a range of policy solutions to help address healthcare affordability issues and support America's diverse entrepreneurial ecosystem with access to quality coverage.

Digital transformation: Survey finds lack of digital fluency in key areas, need for additional support

The coronavirus pandemic has forever changed consumer behavior and how business is done. Tech giants and other large companies were able to capitalize on this seismic shift, leaving vulnerable small businesses behind, particularly those owned by women and entrepreneurs of color. To ensure an equitable recovery and to level the playing field for small businesses, we have launched an in-depth, multifaceted research project to better understand what these businesses need to compete in a radically changed environment. 

This first survey specifically explores small business confidence in implementing digital tools and technologies, their digital literacy and their access to broadband. Additionally, the survey reveals the current state of small business growth and how this may impact their digital transformation.

Small Business Majority supports nomination of next Secretary of Labor

On February 15, Small Business Majority submitted a letter to the White House in response to reports that Secretary Martin Walsh is expected to depart the U.S. Department of Labor. Secretary Walsh has been an important and successful advocate for America’s workers as part of a truly inclusive economy. Should he in fact decide to leave the agency, we strongly urge you to nominate Deputy Secretary of Labor Julie Su to serve as the next Secretary of Labor.

The goals of this series were to address timely issues facing small businesses in today’s economy by amplifying SBA Resource Partners and uplifting Small Business Majority partners’ work on the ground.
