Business Organizations Support Small Business Title in Budget Reconciliation

Today, Small Business Majority, American Booksellers Association, American Independent Business Alliance, American Sustainable Business Network, Common Future, and Main Street Alliance sent a letter to Congressional leaders underscoring the importance of passing the budget reconciliation package. America’s small businesses owners will benefit from the budget reconciliation package because it proposes bold long-term investments into the small business ecosystem.

Small Business Majority 2021 Year in Review

This year, we continued to educate small business owners and entrepreneurs about important resources, funding options, policy updates and more that could help their businesses recover from the ongoing pandemic and become more resilient. Over the course of the year, we hosted and participated in more than 430 events, partnering with more than 300 organizations and stakeholders. These events garnered more than 20,000 event registrants  and indirectly reached 150,000 individuals.

The Main Street Alliance is a national network of small businesses and their supporters working to build a new voice for small businesses on important public policy issues. Main Street Alliance members are working throughout the country to build policies that work for business owners, their employees, and the communities they serve.

Small Business Majority Supports David Weil Nomination

Today, John Arensmeyer shared a letter with leaders of the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, encouraging the swift confirmation of David Weil, President Biden's nominee for Administrator at the Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor. David Weil is well-equipped to lead the Wage and Hour Division, particularly because he has direct experience in the role. Weil previously held the position during President Barack Obama’s administration from 2014 to 2017 and believes quality jobs are essential to a small business ecosystem.

A new survey from Small Business Majority sheds a light on how supply chain disruptions are impacting small businesses during the crucial fourth quarter, as well as their views on the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccination requirement for businesses with 100 or more employees, and key components in the Build Back Better plan that are being negotiated in the U.S. Senate.
