Small Business Majority writes in support of AB 824 which would prevent “pay for delay” business practices by drug companies. The legislation would crack down on these practices through greater enforcement and by making them presumptively illegal, which shifts the burden of proof in lawsuits onto drug companies to prove these agreements are not anticompetitive. As a result, it will help ensure small business owners have access to affordable, quality healthcare options.

California small business owners broadly support proposed healthcare reforms that would expand access and address affordability, according to new scientific opinion polling. The poll found large majorities of California small business owners support expanding the existing system of premium subsidies to help more people purchase insurance. They also broadly support other proposals aimed at addressing underlying cost and affordability issues across the healthcare system.

The Latino Business Networking Group provides assistance and support for Latino businesses in the Fruitvale, Richmond, Martinez, Hayward, Fremont and San Jose areas. The main purpose of the project is to bridge and connect the monolingual Spanish speaking - Latino business owners and entrepreneurs to all the resources and services that the city of Oakland and other organizations offer to support them in their development, growth, and sustainability of their business.

Small Business Majority Supports California's Angel Investor Bill

Small Business Majority writes in support of California's Angel Investor Bill, AB 2758. The legislation would support qualifiying small businesses struggling to find financing by creating a tax credit of 5% to angel investors that invest in businesses with less than $2 million in gross receipts. Additionally, the legislation prioritizes investor applications from those investing in traditionally underrepresented businesses.
