On April 2, Small Business Majority submitted comments in response to a proposed rule issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) which proposes several expansive changes to eligibility and enrollment standards for the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) Healthcare Insurance Marketplace. Given the critical role the ACA plays in providing affordable healthcare coverage to millions of small business owners annually, our comments caution CMS against pursuing these changes, which includes a shorter open enrollment period, stricter income verification requirements, and removing DACA recipients from Marketplace eligibility.
