Employers look to Covered California exchange for quality health insurance
When it comes to health insurance, small businesses are deciding that price matters, but so does brand. In fact, a growing number of companies are turning to Covered California for Small Business to provide name-brand health coverage for their employees.
According to Covered California, small businesses can get affordable, top quality, name brand health insurance from six health and seven dental carriers. There are four tiers of health plans from which to choose—bronze, silver, gold and platinum—with dozens of plan options.
“We know how challenging it can be to provide health coverage to your employees,” Kirk Whelan of Covered California said. “That’s why we’re here to make it easier on you. We offer your business a wide range of health plans year-round, so that you can attract employees, retain them, and help them to stay healthy, happy and productive.”
All six carriers offering coverage in 2016 have returned for 2017: Blue Shield of California, Chinese Community Health Plan, Health Net, Kaiser Permanente, Sharp Health Plan and Western Health Advantage.
Most carriers have a national reputation for excellence, while others are highly-regarded regional carriers. All have served the individual and small group market for decades—and in some cases generations.
Covered California for Small Business rigorously vetted each carrier to ensure benefits they offer meet or exceed federal requirements.
Currently, more than 28,000 individuals have insurance through Covered California for Small Business, which makes it one of the largest Small Business Health Options Programs in the nation.
Family dental plans are optional and will be provided by Access Dental, Delta Dental, Liberty Dental, Dental Health Services, Premier Access Dental and California Dental Network.
