On March 31, Small Business Majority Colorado Director Hunter Nelson submitted written testimony in support of HB25-1011. This legislation would ensure that Colorado’s entrepreneurs and workers can continue to access childcare regardless of private equity’s acquisition of their childcare center.

On April 10, Small Business Majority Colorado Director Hunter Nelson testified in support of  SB 25-198, legislation that would expand the Attorney General’s authority to review healthcare mergers and acquisitions and prohibit them unless certain criteria are met.

On March 28, Small Business Majority Colorado Director Hunter Nelson sent a letter to the Colorado House in support of HB 25-1174. This legislation would establish reimbursement limits for prices paid to certain hospitals through the small group market, resulting in lower healthcare costs for small businesses in Colorado.

On March 25, Small Business Majority Colorado Director Hunter Nelson sent a letter to Senators Amabile, Ball, Bridges, Daugherty, Exum, Michaelsen Jenet and Sullivan urging them to support SB25-157. This legislation would modernize and strengthen Colorado’s consumer protection laws to better safeguard individuals, families and small businesses from fraudulent, deceptive and predatory business practices.

On March 24, Small Business Majority Colorado Director Hunter Nelson sent a letter to the Colorado Senate urging them to pass HB25-1090. This legislation would allow Colorado’s consumers and small businesses to enjoy greater transparency when purchasing goods and services, or when renting property.

On March 25, Small Business Majority Colorado Director Hunter Nelson testified in support of HB25-1295, legislation that would create a reciprocal licensing and permitting system for the operation of food trucks within the jurisdictions of local governments in the state.

Under current law, deceptive trade practices must significantly affect the public in order to violate the Colorado Consumer Protection Act. On March 11, Small Business Majority testified in support of Senate Bill 25-157, strengthen protections against deceptive trade practices for Colorado’s small businesses and consumers while protecting small businesses from wrongful accusations.

On March 10, Small Business Majority Colorado Director Hunter Nelson testified in support of House Bill 25-1199, legislation that would create an additional payment schedule option for commercial property taxes.

On February 26, Alejandro Flores-Muñoz, owner of Combi Taco & Stokes Poke Catering, testified in support of HB25-1174. The legislation would reduce bills patients receive from big hospital systems and, in turn, supports small business owners who provide their employees with health insurance through the small group market.
