Small Business Majority submits statement for the record detailing the shortcomings of H.R. 1 for Main Street

On April 17, Small Business Majority submitted a statement for the record for a U.S. House Committee on Small Business hearing titled “Lower Taxes, Stronger Main Street: The Benefits of the Working Families Tax Cuts.” Our statement details how the tax provisions, like the Section 199A pass-through deduction, made permanent under H.R. 1, or the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” have fallen short of supporting small businesses in the face of rising healthcare costs and unprecedented global tariffs.
