Small Business Majority testifies in support of protections against deceptive pricing practices

On February 19, Small Business Majority Colorado Director Hunter Nelson testified in support of House Bill 25-1090, legislation that would provide greater transparency in pricing of goods, services and property for both consumers and small businesses, including common area maintenance (CAM) fees for small businesses.

Small Business Majority sends letter urging Congress to prioritize small businesses through a short-term, “clean” CR

On March 11, Small Business Majority sent a letter to House and Senate leadership ahead the consideration of a full-year continuing resolution (CR) to urge lawmakers to rather prioritize the needs of America's entrepreneurial community through the passage of a clean, short-term CR that allows Congress to work in a bipartisan manner to fulfill its duty of enacting all 12 FY25 appropriations bills to properly fund the agencies and programs that small businesses utilize to grow.

Voice of Main Street: Entrepreneurs worry about impact of tariffs, other disruptive acts, prefer small business friendly policies

Small Business Majority’s February poll shows entrepreneurs are concerned about new tariffs and mass deportations. Over half fear tariffs will hurt their business, and 77% worry about economic impact. Deportation policies also raise concern, with 69% citing potential harm to the U.S. economy and 37% to their own or suppliers’ operations.

Small Business Majority’s new national opinion poll of small businesses reveals that they believe they’re not competing on a level playing field in the federal tax system with large corporations. While many small business owners are aware of and take advantage of the 20% pass-through deduction, the benefits of this deduction are skewed in favor of a small number of the wealthiest businesses. As a result, they support several reforms, including a fixed standard deduction. Additionally, entrepreneurs support maintaining increased IRS funding so that they can properly execute their mission to improve customer service and increased audits of wealthy taxpayers and large corporations.

Small Business Speaks: Two Days in Washington with Small Business Majority

On September 26 and 27, Small Business Majority hosted an advocacy fly-in event, “Small Business Speaks: Two Days in Washington with Small Business Majority.” Nearly 30 entrepreneurs from the organization’s national and state Small Business Councils attended the event to build community and ensure that federal policymakers heard the true voice of small business.
