New Head of Healthcare.gov to Bring Experience and Expertise To Online Marketplace

Today’s announcement that Kurt DelBene is taking over the helm of Healthcare.gov is welcome news for small businesses and consumers who are looking forward to using the website to shop for health coverage. DelBene has shown expertise in managing teams and solving complex technology projects during his time as president of the Microsoft Office Division. We’re pleased he’ll now be at the wheel of the marketplace and look forward to working with him on continuing to improve the online health insurance marketplace and on bolstering small businesses’ access to quality, affordable health coverage.

DelBene will be taking over Healthcare.gov from Jeff Zients, who is replacing Gene Sperling as Director of the National Economic Council and Assistant to the President for Economic Policy. Zients has shown strong support of our entrepreneurs during his time at the Office of Management and Budget, and we’re pleased he’ll now be steering economic policy for the administration. We look forward to working together on continuing to bolster small business and our overall economic success.
