Virginia Small Business Partnership members gain access to critical business information and government officials, with opportunities to advocate for small business in Washington, D.C. Fairfax, Va.—Virginia Small Business Partnership has joined Small Business Majority's strategic partnership program—a network of more than 125 business organizations across the country working together to educate small business owners about national and state-level legislation and how it impacts their business.
The Virginia Small Business Partnership was formed in 2010 and that year hosted the first-ever Virginia Small Business Summit, a gathering which served as an opportunity to bring lawmakers and policy experts together with small business leaders from across the Commonwealth to discuss ways to improve the Virginia small business environment. More than 180 business leaders gathered at the inaugural Summit to talk about current policies and areas for improvement. Since then, the Virginia Small Business Partnership has hosted an annual Virginia Small Business Summit each fall as a way to bring small business leaders and policy makers together to discuss ways to move Virginia forward by implementing pro-small business policies. They are dedicated to representing the small business community to Virginia leaders and also serving as a resource to the small business community by hosting policy briefings and continuing to bring small business leaders together with decision-makers throughout the Commonwealth.
Small Business Majority is a national small business advocacy organization, founded and run by small business owners to focus on the biggest problems facing small firms today.
"Virginia Small Business Partnership is delighted to partner with Small Business Majority. It is important for us to partner with organizations that will provide our members with important information and updates on laws that impact small businesses," said Amanda Kadilak, President of Virginia Small Business Partnership. "We look forward to working with Small Business Majority to provide our members with even more critical information about the issues affecting them most, including healthcare, immigration reform, clean energy and more."
Through Small Business Majority's strategic partnership program, which reaches more than 500,000 small businesses nationwide, Virginia Small Business Partnership members will be able to participate in a host of events, including "Business Leader Briefing" calls with high-level government officials and policy experts. They'll also have the opportunity to visit Washington D.C. to advocate on issues important to the small business community.
"We're thrilled to have Virginia Small Business Partnership join our strategic partnership program," said Erik Rettig, Mid-Atlantic Outreach Manager for Small Business Majority. "We look forward to working with the organization and its members to continue to make small business voices heard from the Main Streets of America to the corridors of Capitol Hill."
