Statement by John Arensmeyer, founder & CEO of Small Business Majority, on Gene Sperling̢??‰?s departure as Director of the National Economic Council and Assistant to the President for Economic Policy

"Gene Sperling has been a strong small business advocate during his tenure as director of the National Economic Council. We're sorry to see a supporter of the small business community go, especially during these challenging economic times. However, we appreciate the way he worked on important small business issues and we very much look forward to working with Jeff Zients, whom the president named today to take his spot.

Zients has shown strong support of our entrepreneurs during his time at the Office of Management and Budget, and we̢??‰?re pleased he̢??‰?ll now be at the helm of the administration̢??‰?s economic policy team. We look forward to working together to continuing to bolster small business and our overall economic success."
