**Small business owners nationwide available for comment**

A rule re-proposed today by the Environmental Protection Agency that would limit greenhouse gas emissions from new power plants will help spur innovation and provide opportunities for small businesses. What̢??‰?s more, this standard is supported by the vast majority of small businesses̢??‰۝our primary job creators.

Small Business Majority̢??‰?s opinion polling found three-quarters of small business owners across the country are in favor of requiring new power plants to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. What̢??‰?s more, 56 percent would still support this standard even if it means an increase in utility rates.

Small business owners understand the clean energy economy is rife with business opportunities. In fact, the vast majority of them believe investing in clean energy can stimulate the economy and create jobs now. Despite strong small business support, efforts to set standards reducing carbon emissions have been blocked over and over. That comes at the expense of our economic future.

Small business owners know our economy̢??‰?s success depends on change and innovation, which is why they support bold policies that will provide new business opportunities for increased investment in low and no-carbon technologies, as well as those that promote energy efficiency. They understand change and innovation will help stimulate our flagging economy.
