Statement from John Arensmeyer, Founder & CEO of Small Business Majority, in response to yesterday's violent attack on the U.S. Capitol

"As representatives of America’s 30 million small businesses, we condemn yesterday's assault on our nation's capital and the bedrock of our democracy. When people in positions of power maliciously divide us and pander to tyrants, this is the result.

All elected officials have a sworn duty to put our country over party politics and they must uphold and defend the will of the American people. We join business leaders, government officials and others in calling on Donald Trump and his enablers to condemn violent insurrection and baseless claims of fraud and to take immediate steps to ensure a peaceful transfer of power on January 20.

We are better than this and we must find a way to rebuild our nation together."
