Statement from John Arensmeyer, Founder & CEO of Small Business Majority, commending the administration's executive order to transform federal customer experiences and service delivery that will help rebuild confidence in disaster preparedness and federal loan distribution.

"In light of the recent natural disasters in Kentucky and Illinois, we're glad the administration has announced its new executive order to improve customer relations across federal agencies. This is particularly important for small businesses that have been damaged by these latest tornadoes and are also still trying to access other emergency relief through U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) programs.

The SBA has fielded an unprecedented number of loans and requests over the past 21 months, leading to long wait times for small business borrowers seeking updates on their grant and loan applications. Small business owners must be able to easily and quickly navigate the SBA loan and services process to manage their business operations effectively. Providing more certainty about loan application responses and wait times at call centers will assist small businesses in making decisions about how to recover or grow their business.

We would like to see Congress take this even further by ensuring the SBA has the full staffing and technical resources it needs to serve our small business community best. We urge the Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship to fortify this executive order by confirming qualified nominees, such as Mr. Dilawar Syed, to lead the SBA. We look forward to working with this administration in the continued improvement of transparency and modernization of federal agency programs and in the building of a solid commitment to putting small business owners at the center of everything they do."
