SBA Should Not Abandon its New York City Office

Statement from Small Business Majority New York Director Lindsey Vigoda on why the U.S. Small Business Administration should reconsider its plan to relocate offices away from major cities

“With over 183,000 small businesses, New York City is the nation's flagship hub for entrepreneurs. We see entrepreneurial innovation on every corner of the city as small business growth happens every day. But closing the New York City office of the SBA would likely make it more difficult for New York’s robust entrepreneurial community to access valuable resources. It’s also not clear why a city’s policies toward immigrants would disqualify it from serving small businesses well. With that in mind, we urge SBA to reconsider its plan to shutter offices in or near major cities like New York.”
