Entrepreneurs in Small Business Majority̢??‰?s network joined President Obama on Monday to mark the five-year anniversary of the financial crisis; anniversary comes just days before Small Business Majority and The Hill host policy briefing on Capitol Hill to discuss ways to bolster small business and economy

Washington, DC̢??‰۝Members of Small Business Majority̢??‰?s small business owner network joined President Obama at the White House on Monday, Sept. 16, to mark the five-year anniversary of the financial crisis. During his remarks, the president addressed many of the small business owners̢??‰? key concerns as the country continues to recover from the Great Recession, including continuing to fortify the middle class, investing in America̢??‰?s infrastructure and focusing on full and robust implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

The small business owners in attendance included LaJuanna Russell, president and CEO of Business Management Associates in Alexandria, Va., Dan Turner, president of TCG in Washington, D.C., and Loretta Caldwell, president of L. S. Caldwell & Associates in D.C.

The No. 1 concern of the small business owners who joined President Obama and the vast majority of America̢??‰?s 28 million entrepreneurs is growing the economy. That̢??‰?s why Small Business Majority and The Hill newspaper are hosting a panel on Capitol Hill on Thursday, Sept. 19 to discuss policies that will help America̢??‰?s job creators, and the economy, grow. The panel, which will feature small business owners from Oregon and Ohio who are traveling to D.C. as part of Small Business Majority̢??‰?s 2nd Annual Network Council trip, will cover tax and access to capital policies small business owners feel will be most beneficial to helping the small business community continue to recover. The briefing will feature keynote remarks by Senators Ben Cardin and Carl Levin and Congressman Chris Collins, among others.

The free policy briefing will be live-streamed on Small Business Majority and The Hill̢??‰?s websites on Thursday, Sept. 19 and is free to all. The event runs from 8:30-10am in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, Room SD-106. Breakfast will be provided. To attend, please RSVP to [email protected].
