Cincinnati, OH̢??‰۝The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, in conjunction with small business advocacy organization Small Business Majority, hosted a roundtable discussion today where local small business owners talked about the impacts of immigration reform with Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano. The forum allowed small employers to learn about how immigration reform might affect them and to give feedback.

̢???The Chamber supports responsible immigration reform,̢???? said Matt Davis, Vice President of Government Affairs with the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. ̢???Businesses need an immigration system that is fair, easy to comply with, responds to market forces and protects our national interests and security.̢????

The roundtable event comes as Congress is considering a major overhaul to the country̢??‰?s immigration system. Recent polling by Small Business Majority found small businesses across the country agree our immigration system is broken and strongly support reform. What̢??‰?s more, small business owners strongly support provisions of the comprehensive immigration reform proposal currently before Congress.

̢???Small business owners understand that fixing our country̢??‰?s immigration system will help them foster better workforces and new create customers, which will bolster their bottom lines and our economy as a whole,̢???? said Mary Huttlinger, Midwest Outreach Manager for Small Business Majority. ̢???Events like today̢??‰?s roundtable give small business owners a chance to tell policymakers what would be beneficial and what won̢??‰?t. We hope lawmakers listen to their concerns and move forward in a timely manner.̢????
