Small Business Majority's Terry Gardiner joins HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius at Press Conference Introducing New Regulations

Washington, DC, July 11, 2011: Small Business Majority's Vice President of Policy & Strategy, Terry Gardiner, discussed the impact health insurance exchanges will have on small businesses at a press conference held by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on Monday, July 11, where she introduced new exchange regulations.

The most important component of healthcare reform for small businesses is the creation of state health insurance exchanges. They will lower the high cost of insurance premiums and reduce the administrative costs that are so often the driving force behind skyrocketing rates for small group plans, Gardiner said. Setting up exchanges that work effectively for small businesses and consumers is not simple, but it's critical it's done right. The exchange rules issued by HHS today provide strong guidance to states on how to setup an exchange that will work effectively.
