Polling Data Showing California Small Business Owners Opinions on Healthcare Reform will be Released at a Press Conference at 11 am on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009.

WHAT: Research showing the majority of California small business owners believe healthcare reform is necessary and important to getting the economy back on track will be released at a telephone press conference on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 at 11 am.

Seven hundred randomly selected small business owners in California, one of 15 states polled in the last six months, overwhelmingly indicate that affordability is the barrier to providing health insurance, and view the lack of access to high-quality, affordable healthcare as a significant barrier to entrepreneurship. Of the 700 respondents, 100 were Latino small business owners and 100 were rural small business people. The findings include small business owners opinions on preexisting conditions, an insurance exchange and employer contributions to employee health benefits.
