Statement by John Arensmeyer, CEO, Small Business Majority:

The California Air Resources Board's final approval today of the cap and trade regulations in AB 32, California's clean energy law, is good news for the state's small businesses.

AB 32 will spur energy efficiency investments and new innovations, providing opportunities to a wide range of California small businesses to expand and boost their bottom lines by allowing them to take advantage of the increased investments, innovation and energy efficiency savings that the law will generate. They'll also see more demand for the products and services they provide, which will help them grow their businesses and create jobs. Not only is this good for small businesses, but for the state's economy overall.

Additionally, today's approval creates market certainty for all businesses and gives clean energy investors, who pour hundreds of millions of dollars into our economy in support of local jobs, confidence that California's clean energy economy will continue to grow.

We applaud the Air Resources Board's commitment to the state's small businesses and its growing clean energy economy.
