Sustainability through Business Partnerships: The Just Trust's Safer Communities

Our afternoon session will include a conversation with Maggie O’Donnell from Responsible Business Initiative for Justice and Lindsey Vigoda from Small Business Majority. We’ll explore how partnerships with businesses can lead to policy, funding, programmatic, and other strategic successes.

• The role of businesses — and their leaders — in calling for change in criminal justice, trends and opportunities in engaging with businesses in this space, and tips and tricks for doing so. In addition to chatting about our work together, you could speak to the many ways you (as a rep for SBM) and your many businesses have advocated for changes (through public policy, corporate policy, and narrative change/storytelling). I think there's a bunch you could speak to on SBM's advocacy around Clean Slate, occupational licensing reform, and driver's license reform. And your own work with businesses here in New York! I'm sure Neha could help advise on where best to focus too, if of interest.
