This session will center on the Biden-Harris administration’s competition agenda stemming from the president’s July 2021 executive order. It could also touch upon tax policies that support a level playing field. Topics include efforts by the Federal Trade Commission (and the Justice Department) to address non-compete agreements, price discrimination, franchise relationships, junk fees and mergers as well as legislative efforts to roll back technology platforms’ anti-competitive practices. The session could also include a discussion of Biden-Harris current budget proposals to implement a fairer tax system as well as the looming tax debate expected in 2025.
