Alongside 12 organizations that support the small business ecosystem, Small Business Majority submitted a letter to Congressional leaders urging them to immediately address the debt ceiling crisis for the sake of America's entrepreneurs. The organizations outline the ways in which small businesses are already being impacted and how they will be effected if nothing is done. What's more, the letter calls on Congress to ensure that no small business programs are cut in negotiations.

More than 400 small business owners and business organizations signed on to our letter urging the Federal Trade Commission to enact its proposed rule to ban non-compete agreements. Non-compete agreements are a significant impediment to entrepreneurship, create a non-level playing field and impede the ability of employees to maximize their skills.

As of April 13, more than 400 small business owners and small business organizations have signed onto a letter urging the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to enact its proposed rule to ban non-compete agreements. On April 19, lead partner organizations Small Business Majority, American Sustainable Business Network, Main Street Alliance, Pacific Community Ventures, and Right to Start will submit a final letter to the FTC in response to its comment period.

On April 7, Small Business Majority submitted a letter to the U.S. Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions, urging the committee to confirm the nomination of Julie Su as the next Secretary of Labor. Deputy Secretary Su is collaborative, works well with small business groups, and will ensure that small businesses and their employees are truly supported and prioritized.

Secretary Walsh has been an important and successful advocate for America’s workers as part of a truly inclusive economy. Should he in fact decide to leave the agency, we strongly urge you to nominate Deputy Secretary of Labor Julie Su to serve as the next Secretary of Labor.
