On May 7, Small Business Majority joined a coalition of eight national organizations representing small businesses and fair markets to file an amicus brief in the case Linney's Pizza v. Federal Reserve at the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. The brief argues that the Federal Reserve’s 21-cent cap on debit interchange fees, set forth by Regulation II, is unlawful and is a misinterpretation of the limits outlined in the Durbin Amendment.

On April 30, Small Business Majority State Policy & Advocacy, Vice President Awesta Sarkash submitted written testimony requesting an amendment to Senate Bill 26-178, which would provide stopgap funding for the Health Insurance Affordability Enterprise (HIAE). This is a critical measure that would help lower healthcare costs for Coloradans on the individual market.

On April 28, Small Business Majority led a coalition of nearly 100 local, state and national organizations in a letter to Small Business Committee Ranking Members Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) and Rep. Nydia Velázquez (D-NY) to endorse the Investing in the American Dream Act. The legislation seeks to overturn SBA guidance issued in February that restricts loan access for businesses without 100% U.S. citizenship ownership. Instead, it would codify previous standards allowing businesses to qualify for 7(a), 504, Microloan, and Surety Bond programs if they are based in the U.S.

Small Business Majority network member Paloma Corona, owner of Little Sprouts Language Immersion Preschool in Los Angeles testified before California State Assembly Committee on Banking and Finance to share her experience with predatory loans and ask the Committee to support AB 2116, which proposes to expand the California Consumer Financial Protection Law (CCFPL) to protect small businesses from abusive commercial financing practices.

On April 21, Small Business Majority Vice President, State Policy & Advocacy Awesta Sarkash submitted written testimony in support of HB26-1210. This legislation would prohibit discrimination against a consumer or worker through the use of a price or wage setting algorithm (PWSA), which would protect small businesses from an increasingly unleveled playing field.
