On April 1, Small Business Majority Founder & CEO John Arensmeyer testified before the U.S. House Committee on Small Business during a hearing titled “The Golden Age: Unleashing Main Street Through Deregulation.” In his testimony, John emphasized that small businesses nationwide are more concerned about burdensome tariffs, federal funding freezes, cuts to essential federal agencies supporting small businesses, and mass deportations than the effects of federal regulations.

On June 10, Small Business Majority and over 25 national and state organizations sent a letter urging the U.S. Senate to reject the nearly $800 billion in cuts to Medicaid outlined in the House-passed reconciliation bill which would strip coverage away from 7.8 million individuals. The letter emphasizes Medicaid's importance to the small business community and urges Congress to pursue alternative reforms, such as site-neutral payments, that would generate revenue without cutting individual coverage.

Today, Senior Public Policy Director Awesta Sarkash, submitted a letter to the Speaker of the House and Senate Pro Tempore of North Carolina opposing legislation that would eliminate the state's corporate income tax. This is not a priority for small businesses and most small businesses do not benefit from this.

On June 5, Small Business Majority sent a letter to the U.S. House of Representatives in opposition to H.R. 2931, the Save SBA from Sanctuary Cities Act of 2025, and H.R. 2966, the American Entrepreneurs First Act.
