Access to capital, resources, and opportunities for entrepreneurs

  • Expand access to transparent and responsible capital by requiring clear and upfront disclosures on small business loan products.
  • Bolster federal resources and streamline regulations to ensure that tools and technical assistance, including procurement opportunities, are geared towards helping the millions of our smallest businesses succeed in today’s economy.
  • Provide pathways to success for women, minority and rural entrepreneurs by strengthening loan products and business development programs with a focus on under-resourced communities.

Bolster a Main Street-friendly workforce and the creation of quality jobs

  • Ensure access to affordable quality healthcare by expanding access to Medicaid and bolstering the Affordable Care Act (ACA), including strengthening the ACA premium subsidies needed to ensure greater healthcare enrollment by America’s small business owners.
  • Require more transparency and competition in healthcare markets by holding hospitals and other large medical entities accountable for their anti-competitive practices, which impacts the quality and cost of healthcare services for small business owners and their employees.
  • Enact commonsense immigration reforms providing pathways to legal status or citizenship for qualifying undocumented immigrants and visa holders to bolster an essential small business workforce while ending disruptive mass deportations that harm Main Street.
  • Provide support for small business owners seeking to offer long-term benefits for their employees, such as childcare, paid family and medical leave and retirement options.

Foster a level playing field for American small businesses

  • Enforce antitrust and fair competition laws to give small business owners a chance to compete in today’s increasingly consolidated economy by enforcing anti-price discrimination laws and removing barriers to success for Main Street.
  • Reform key tax policies that prioritize the needs of true Main Street enterprises, not the Fortune 500.
  • Provide relief for small businesses paying high tariff rates by reducing or eliminating excessive fees paid on imports with key trading partners.
