Access to reproductive healthcare, including the full spectrum of family planning resources, underpins women entrepreneurs’ economic success. Specifically, the freedom to choose when and whether to have children is a critical component of financial security for women small business owners, their employees and their families—especially women of color, low-income women and those in rural communities.

The Supreme Court ruling on Roe v. Wade underscores the vital importance of protecting access to care. During a committee hearing on May 10, 2022, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen emphasized the catastrophic economic impact on women if Roe v. Wade is overturned. The impact on women’s entrepreneurship is central to this reality.
