To help prevent and combat money laundering, tax fraud and other financial crimes, a recent bipartisan law requires many companies and small businesses to report beneficial ownership information (BOI) to the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).

During National Small Business Week, join Small Business Majority, FinCEN and Transparency International U.S. for a virtual information session on the new BOI reporting requirements and how to comply with the new law. Additionally, we will be joined by a small business owner who will share their experience and best practices for filing. This session will be followed by an opportunity for attendees to engage with FinCEN to learn more about how their business can best comply with and fulfill the reporting requirement.

Small business owners often don’t have the resources or legal expertise to fend off the anti-competitive tactics found in concentrated industries. Entrepreneurs continue to experience the disproportionate impacts of consolidation and abuses of corporate power that impede their ability to grow and sustain their business. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is at the forefront of ensuring small businesses nationwide can compete on a level playing field. Please join Small Business Majority for an exclusive briefing with FTC Chair Lina Khan to discuss steps the FTC is taking to curb anti-competitive practices and to foster a level economic landscape where small businesses and entrepreneurs can flourish. During the briefing, small business owners will also hear about the FTC’s recently finalized rule to curb non-compete agreements and how small businesses can benefit.
