Mark Herbert, California Director for Small Business Majority, available to speak to media about California's Secure Choice Retirement Savings Program and its benefits to small businesses

WHAT: Mark Herbert, California Director for Small Business Majority, is available to speak to media by phone on the importance of the California Secure Choice Retirement Savings Program to small businesses. Herbert will also be available in person following Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León’s press conference this Monday in Sacramento.

Polling from Small Business Majority and AARP found that two-thirds of small business owners in California support a state retirement savings program that would help small businesses and their employees save for the future. Nearly three-fourths (73 percent) of respondents think offering such a program would give their business a competitive edge.

“Many small business owners would like to offer a retirement program to their employees but don’t have the resources to do so,” said Herbert. “This puts them at a competitive disadvantage in hiring and retaining top employees. The California Secure Choice Retirement Savings Program offers a simple and low-cost way for them to solve this problem.”

WHEN/WHERE: Mark Herbert is available to speak to media by phone or in-person following Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León’s press conference on retirement security this Monday in Sacramento. The location and timing of the press conference are TBD.
