MEDIA AVAILABILITY: Small Business Expert Available to Speak about Small Business Support for Nondiscrimination Policies
Tim Gaudette, Outreach Manager for Small Business Majority, available to speak to media about the General Assembly's special session and small business support for nondiscrimination policies
WHAT: Small business expert Tim Gaudette, Outreach Manager for Small Business Majority, is available to speak to media this week by phone about the General Assembly's special session and small business support for nondiscrimination policies, like the nondiscrimination ordinance recently passed by the Charlotte City Council. Small Business Majority's opinion polling found 8 in 10 entrepreneurs across the country support protecting LGBT individuals against discrimination in public accommodations, such as restaurants, hotels and other businesses open to the public. What's more, the majority of North Carolina small businesses support laws protecting gay and transgender people from discrimination in employment and believe nondiscrimination policies help attract and retain talent. "Small business owners support policies that create a safe and inclusive business environment because they believe they're good for business, they help companies attract and retain talented employees and because it's the right thing to do," said Gaudette. "We urge the General Assembly to consider small business support for this issue as they debate Charlotte's nondiscrimination ordinance this week. This will help small businesses retain quality employees and create a happier, healthier workforce and community." WHEN/WHERE: Tim Gaudette is available to speak to media this week by phone.
