John Arensmeyer, Founder & CEO of Small Business Majority, available to speak in person to media in NYC, elsewhere by phone, about the president's State of the Union address

WHAT: Small business and economic expert John Arensmeyer, Founder & CEO of Small Business Majority, is available to speak to media in-person from New York or by phone elsewhere on Tuesday about the president's State of the Union address. Arensmeyer is also available before the State of the Union address, upon request.

"Contrary to a long-held misconception, small businesses are not reflexively anti-government. But, they want government to understand their needs and respond in a constructive manner—and then act on it," said Arensmeyer. "This year's State of the Union address provides an opportunity for the president to set the stage for meaningful reform in Congress on key issues that affect small business' bottom lines, including tax reform, increasing access to capital, maintaining net neutrality, bolstering the healthcare law and improving our nation's physical and digital infrastructure.

Small businesses represent 99 percent of employer firms, employ half of all private sector employees and pay around 40 percent of U.S. private sector payroll. As the nation's top job creators, we hope the president focuses his efforts and comments on reforms and policies that help small businesses, and therefore our economy, thrive."

WHO: John Arensmeyer, Founder & CEO of Small Business Majority is available by phone or in-person from New York before or after the president's State of the Union address on Tuesday.
