Interactive call to all small businesses; chance for entrepreneurs to learn about the federal and state Earned Income Tax Credit and how they can benefit from these tax credit opportunities

DENVER—The Colorado Fiscal Institute, in conjunction with small business organization Small Business Majority, will host an interactive call on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, on the federal and Colorado state Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), and how small businesses, their employees and families can benefit from these economic opportunities.

"The Earned Income Tax Credit rewards hardworking Coloradans with low to moderate incomes and effectively boosts their pay," said Ali Mickelson of the Colorado Fiscal Institute. "That, in turn, sends more money right back to local small businesses, where working families spends millions upon millions of dollars every year."

The free webinar, which is open to all small business owners, will feature Small Business Majority's Colorado Outreach Manager, Tim Gaudette, who will provide an overview of the federal and state EITC, discuss who qualifies for the tax credit, and explain how Colorado small businesses and the economy benefit from the EITC. Gaudette will also discuss proposed legislation that would make the state EITC permanent and allow eligible taxpayers to claim the credit beginning with the 2015 tax year.

A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

The webinar will take place on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at 10:30am MST. Small business owners can register for the interactive call online at https://cc.readytalk.com/r/yro37sbxciaz&eom.
