Small Business Majority partners with business organizations to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month and launch a series of new resources to support the Latino small business community

Washington, DC - Small Business Majority is dedicated to championing the nearly 5 million Hispanic-owned businesses in the United States. In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Small Business Majority is launching new resources and a grant opportunity in partnership with organizations such as Support Latino Business, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC).

“Our community of Hispanic and Latino entrepreneurs continue to set record growth rates for establishing new business ventures, adding to the fabric of our nation and bringing ingenuity, prosperity, and power to every aspect of our society,” said Xiomara Peña, Vice President, Programs & Engagement, Small Business Majority. “We're delighted to work alongside community-led and national organizations on efforts to provide educational programming and grant opportunities for small business owners who have fought hard to make their mark on our nation."

Between September 13 and October 15, Small Business Majority will host events and share targeted information on grants, educational programming, and resources, like the following:

  • #SupportSmallBiz Grant - Opening September 14 and closing September 28, the #SupportSmallBiz grant, which is presented by Small Business Majority and powered by Support Latino Business, will distribute $10,000 in grants to eligible small businesses.
  • Celebrating Hispanic Excellence” - On September 22, SBA's Associate Administrator, Mark Madrid, will provide opening remarks for a virtual event that will honor the accomplishments of Hispanic entrepreneurs and share insights on running a thriving business.
  • The Entrepreneurial Puzzle” - A webinar series starting in October and co-hosted with the USHCC, designed to build knowledge on compiling the pieces you need to pursue entrepreneurship.

"Despite the systemic obstacles they face, Latino small business owners constitute a major driving force of the U.S. economy, starting businesses at record-high rates compared to other entrepreneur groups," said Jennifer Meza, President of Support Latino Business. "Through our ongoing partnership with Small Business Majority and the #SupportSmallBiz grant, we hope to support this key business community whether they are gearing up for growth or becoming entrepreneurs."

During National Hispanic Heritage Month, Venturize–Small Business Majority’s resource hub of information on business lending, retirement, and healthcare–will be the site to visit for free, trusted information entrepreneurs can use to help sustain and grow their businesses. Venturize is the home of compiled grants, affordable capital opportunities, and key strategies Latino and Hispanic businesses can use to flourish amid a changing landscape.
