Tiffany E. Browne
As Small Business Majority's Media Relations Manager, Tiffany E. Browne maintains relationships with news outlets around the country, writes and distributes press materials and responds to media inquiries. In working closely with the VP, Communications, Tiffany develops and executes media relations plans for the organization at the national, state and local levels. In order to raise awareness of short-and long-term issues impacting small businesses, Tiffany actively seeks opportunities for small business owners and members of Small Business Majority's team executive staff to participate in media interviews, op-ed placements and other media related coverage.
With a background in journalism, Tiffany has written for EBONY.com, The Crisis Magazine, Monarch Magazine and local publications in the District of Columbia including the Washington City Paper. Tiffany first transitioned into public relations in working with Heather Freeman Media and PR, where she contributed to the public relations campaign for nationally recognized chefs and their establishments. She then supported public affairs within D.C. government for several years, where she served as the Communications Director for former D.C. Councilmember Yvette M. Alexander (Ward 7) and later as a member of the Office of Public Affairs team with the D.C. Department of Employment Services. Under the Administration of Mayor Muriel Bowser, Tiffany also served as the Acting Communications Director for the Deputy Mayor of Education as part of a six-month detail, in which she worked closely with the communications team for the Executive Office of the Mayor and served as the communications lead for D.C. government agencies in the education cluster.
