The bill would create a paid family and medical leave insurance fund in state and allow small business owners to access and offer this benefit to their employees, helping them overcome challenges in the workforce.

On November 20, Small Business Majority filed an amicus brief alongside nearly 40 companies and individuals doing business in Texas before the Texas Supreme Court in the case of Zurawski v. Texas. The brief argues that the state's restrictive abortion bans are bad for the business community and are having a negative impact on the state’s economy—including an estimated $14.5 billion in lost revenue each year.
