Millions of Americans have suspended driver’s licenses simply because they can't afford to pay fines or fees. These suspensions are not about public safety, but rather about compelling payments for government debts. Debt-based driver’s license suspensions make it harder for Americans to get and keep employment and provide for their families. This policy places unnecessary barriers on those reentering as they work to achieve a real second chance.

Join legislators, business executives, and nonprofit leaders for a conversation on the need to end the policy of debt-based driver’s license suspensions.

Featured speakers include:

  • Michele Blackwell, Senior Public Policy Manager, Uber
  • Mike Curtin, CEO, DC Central Kitchen
  • Alexis D'Amato, Government Affairs Director, Small Business Majority
  • Maha Jweied, CEO, Responsible Business Initiative for Justice
  • Priya Sarathy Jones, Deputy Executive Director, Fines & Fees Justice Center
  • Joanna Weiss, Co-Executive Director, Fines & Fees Justice Center
  • Shea Zwerver, Workforce Relations, Flagger Force
