Today, Small Business Majority, Main Street Alliance and American Sustainable Business Network sent a letter to Congressional leaders underscoring their support of the Child Tax Credit (CTC). America’s entrepreneurs will benefit from the CTC because it has been proven to encourage entrepreneurship. Self-employment grew after CTC payments, particularly among low-income parents.

On October 21, Small Business Majority submitted procedural recommendations concerning the establishment of the Standardized Health Benefit Plan Colorado Option. This program will address racial inequities in Colorado’s healthcare system to ensure that all small businesses in Colorado have access to a robust, more affordable and comprehensive healthcare option.

On October 18, 2021, Midwest Region Director Geri Aglipay testified before the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in support of the Illinois Community Reinvestment Act (IL CRA). This legislation will combat ageism in lending and uplift entrepreneurs of color and women entrepreneurs.

Hundreds of small business owners have added their names onto a sign-on letter calling on Congress to immediately invest in human infrastructure. Entrepreneurs and employees need access to benefits that will help us compete and ensure employees have the resources they need to fully participate in the workforce, as well as reforms to level the playing field for small businesses, particularly when it comes to tax reform.

Today, Small Business Majority shared a letter with members of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship to share concerns about recent actions preventing the nomination of Dilawar Syed to Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration. The letter outlines Mr. Syed's qualifications for the role and urges the Committee to advance his nomination swiftly.

President and CEO of Small Business Majority, John Arensmeyer, submitted a letter of support for the provisions in the Small Business title of the Budget Reconciliation package. The provisions in the Small Business Committee title will make $25 billion worth of critical investments for small businesses on their road to recovery. Mr. Arensmeyer called on Congress to immediately pass these measures as part of the package.

Today, John Arensmeyer submitted a letter of support for the proposed Automatic-IRA program as part of the reconciliation package. In addition, the letter offers recommendations on how to enhance the legislation to best support small businesses in all states.

This program will help level the playing field for small businesses that struggle to offer paid leave benefits to their employees.

With 31.7 million small businesses in the country employing nearly half of the workforce, small businesses continue to struggle to rebuild in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. That's why hundreds of them have signed onto a letter calling on Congress to invest in our country's outdated infrastructure systems. Doing so would create a better foundation for small business recovery post-pandemic and will better prepare businesses to weather future crises.
