Small Business Majority’s Illinois policy agenda outlines policies that advance and promote equitable pathways for entrepreneurship while centering small businesses as the key to a thriving and inclusive economy. The state’s 1.3 million small businesses employ 2.4 million people (about 44.1% of the private workforce), with firms without employees making up 80% of all owned businesses.  Illinois small business owners are navigating workforce shortages, a childcare crisis and the end of a number of pandemic era programs that support entrepreneurship.

Colorado SecureSavings: What small businesses need to know

Colorado SecureSavings is a new state workplace retirement savings program created by the Colorado SecureSavings Board. The program is designed to help Colorado employers and employees set automatic payroll contributions to a Roth Individual Retirement Account (IRA) account and save for the future. Small Business Majority supports Delaware retirement savings program

Today, Small Business Majority submitted a letter of support for HB 205, which would establish the Delaware Expanding Access for Retirement and Necessary Saving (“EARNS”) program. The program would allow eligible employees to provide, on a voluntary basis, access to retirement savings through a state-facilitated retirement savings program in a convenient, cost effective, and portable manner.
